The final day of the 2016 CAAR Conference began with a breakfast presentation session that honoured this year’s Platinum Sponsors.

Following breakfast, Delaney Ross Burtnack joined Major Jo-Anne Flawn-LaForge of the Canadian Armed Forces and Andrew Hurrell from the Canadian Agricultural Human Resources Council to announce the launch of an exciting new project: Operation Ag Careers and CAAR’s AgriJobMatch website.

Nishan Majarian then took the stage to discuss The Future of Ag Retail: Are We Decision Makers or a Delivery Service? Majarian brought forward some fascinating ideas about trends in ag technology, and new strategies for collecting and understanding data.

Tony Chapman commanded the afternoon crowd with his keynote presentation, Stop Selling and Start Storytelling. Chapman closed the conference with a passionate, inspiring session that challenged retailers to find the unique story within their business, and use this to drive their brand into the future.

Just one of the standout thoughts from the closing keynote:

“The biggest barriers in business are not on the road – they are in our minds.”

Check back tomorrow for a recap of the entire 2016 CAAR Conference, and some great photos of our delegates and presenters from throughout the week!

Ready to plan for next year's CAAR Conference? We look forward to seeing you in Banff in 2017.
