John Deere has debuted its first electric tractor prototype ahead of the SIMA agriculture show in France.

The prototype is built on the chassis of John Deere's 6R tractors. The SESAM (Sustainable Energy Supply for Agricultural Machinery) features a set of 130kW lithium-ion batteries and two 150kW electric motors which can produce the equivalent of 400 horsepower.
