A new survey by Manitoba Agriculture shows that the top 10 weeds in the province have changed over the last 20 years.

Green foxtail still sits at the top of the list, but other weeds like barnyard grass, volunteer canola and yellow foxtail have climbed the list since 1997. Due to heavy rotations and changes in herbicide use, volunteer canola has become widespread, whereas weeds like wild oats and Canada thistle have been affected by products and practices.

In 1997, dandelions were the 20th most common weed. Today, they're up to seventh most common.
