That's a Wrap!

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, delegates, exhibitors and speakers for making the 2017 CAAR Conference a monumental success! Coming together for three days of learning, networking and celebrating our industry makes us all stronger and equips us with the tools and knowledge to face challenges and improve our own operations.

The final day of the conference began with the most important meal of the day. Delegates enjoyed sharing stories with colleagues and friends while celebrating the industry we all love over breakfast to mark Canada’s Agriculture Day.

After breakfast, the final day of the conference was full of energetic and engaging sessions from our three conference speakers, who provided attendees with expert insight into the many elements of the Canadian agri-retail industry.

Bill Keogh brought his strategic know-how to his session, where he addressed issues surrounding customer loyalty and advised how retailers can foster loyalty from their own customers.

“I like that he outlined identifying gaps for customer service and how to create value within those, it’s always great to have a good feedback loop to help yourself,” said one conference attendee.

J.P. Gervais identified economic trends for 2017 and beyond, giving delegates food for thought to take back to their businesses. One conference attendee called the presentation "captivating" and described Gervais as a "dynamic and engaging speaker."

"You can tell he’s passionate about the topic," added the attendee. "He doesn’t just prattle on with dry information, he really keeps the audience engaged."

To wrap up the conference, Michelle Ray offered insight into how retailers can continue to take the lead with their customers as technology rapidly evolves.

“Michelle Ray was really good at making you think introspectively,” said another conference attendee. “She made you actively consider the things you can be doing to improve yourself, and how to use those improvements to build stronger experiences and relationships with your customers.”
