Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers Announces Board of Directors

The Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR) is pleased to announce its 2019-20 board of directors who will lead the association throughout the next year as CAAR works to strengthen the ag retail industry in Canada through its advocacy activities and suite of valuable services to members.

“CAAR is the only organization dedicated solely to representing retailers and their side of the business,” says CAAR Board Chair Don Kitson. “A dynamic and engaged board of directors allows CAAR to effectively aggregate retailer opinions and interests into a strong message when dealing with the external groups, producers, government regulators and the general public.”

The 2019 CAAR AGM

CAAR retailer members are encouraged to attend the 2019 CAAR Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 in Winnipeg, Man., prior to the CAAR Conference Icebreaker Cocktail Reception.

CAAR Holiday Office Closure

CAAR’s staff and board of directors would like to wish all of our members and their families a safe and restful holiday season.

CAAR’s office will be closed from December 24 through January 1, re-opening on January 2. Regular CAAR office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.

Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR) has received a revised Equivalency Certificate (SH11960.1) and a revised Temporary Certificate (TH 0653.1) to provide compliance relief on the hydrostatic testing requirements on nurse tanks.

NH3 Update: Hydrostatic Testing Relief Granted for Spring 2018

Transport Canada has agreed to provide agri-retailers time to complete hydrostatic testing, which will ensure adequate anhydrous ammonia resources for farmers this spring. The Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR) has been granted a Temporary Certificate TH 0653 for the 2018 spring seeding season, which will allow members relief for the hydrostatic testing requirements on three year tanks as required by the CSA B620-14. 

CAAR Member MK Agro Wins ADAMA Thank-A-Retailer Community contest.

CAAR extends warm congratulations to MK Agro Ltd., located near Brunkild, MB – winner of ADAMA’s 2018 Thank-A-Retailer contest. As the Manitoba Regional Winner and overall National Winner, MK Agro received a total of $30,000 to spend on projects in their community. They have chosen to donate their prize money to Kelly Kabernick Girls High School Hockey Memorial Scholarship and the Sanford Hockey Arena.
