CAAR membership is about more than an individual business – it’s about being a part of a whole. The agri-retail landscape in Canada is quickly changing and as a part of the broader industry of agriculture, it is facing unprecedented pressures. Being challenged to feed the world is a massive undertaking, but the growing necessity to defend, justify and proactively explain our practices while doing so is an overwhelming task for many. This among the ways CAAR helps its members.

As an association, CAAR is there to proactively support the agri-retail industry; to ensure that best practices are being promoted and recognized by both the industry as well as the public. While the industry grapples with consumer concerns, public perceptions and regulatory pressures, CAAR’s members continue to work with their farmers to grow the healthy, safe and reliable crops that Canada is known for. CAAR is there to help fill the gaps and to ensure the voice of the agri-retailer is being represented in both the industry and within the public sphere.

Through representation at industry meetings, in government proceedings, negotiating terms for regulations and industry codes, and the Operation Ag Careers outreach initiative, CAAR has dramatically increased its advocacy and outreach efforts and will continue to build on this momentum in the coming year. We are asking you to continue be a part of it.

Our office will be sending out renewal notifications on Thursday, June 2. We appreciate having had the opportunity to represent your business in the past year, and it is our sincere hope that your company will continue to support the association as we move purposefully forward. Agri-retailers are doing great work, but this is no longer enough – as an industry we must be seen doing great work and show that we are committed to the continuous improvement of our practices. CAAR is proud to help share your stories with the agriculture industry; all levels of government; and the public to ensure that your work is proactively supported and protected.

Thank you for the work that you do. We look forward to continuing to support you in the future.
