Mitigating the Risk of MRL Non-Compliance in Export Markets

The Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR) invites you to an exclusive online session on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM CST. Our next CAAR Connects session features Greg Bartley – Director, Crop Protection & Crop Quality of Pulse Canada, who will provide a comprehensive overview of the current trade disruptions linked to MRL issues, examine the potential market risks arising from the use of certain crop protection products, and discuss the essential role Agri-Retailers play in helping safeguard market access for Canadian pulses. Participants will gain valuable insights into how they can navigate these challenges and contribute to maintaining Canada’s strong position in the global pulse market.

The success of the Canadian pulse industry hinges on its ability to export to over 120 countries worldwide. To maintain this success, it is crucial for Canadian pulse crops to comply with pesticide Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) in international markets, which often differ from the MRL requirements in Canada. Over recent years, meeting these varying MRL standards has become increasingly complex, creating significant challenges for the industry. As global trade dynamics evolve, the need for heightened awareness and proactive management of MRL requirements has never been more critical.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain essential knowledge on how to navigate the complexities of pesticide MRLs, mitigate market risks, and play a key role in ensuring continued success for Canadian pulses in the global market. Register today to secure your spot in this invaluable session!
