Combine harvester sales once again led the way, according to the AEM report, up up 179.6 percent as 137 units were sold this past January.

Overall, tractor unit sales were up 7 percent at the end of the month, with the 4WD segment leading the way in Canada, growing 75 percent for January, followed by 100+hp 2WD units up 18.6 percent. Even the sub-40hp segment, a loss leader for several months after coming off a pandemic-influenced sales spike, grew 1.3 percent.

“Most of the trends we’re seeing in this month’s report continue what we saw throughout most of 2022,” said Curt Blades, Senior Vice President of Industry Sectors and Product Leadership at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. “However, the industry-wide growth we see in Canada this month is a pleasant sight.”
