Manitoba Sustainable Development has decided that the provincial restriction on winter application of nutrients will remain in place until 11:59 CDT, Wednesday, April 10. Based on current and forecasted weather conditions and field and soil testing observations, no variance is required to the April 10 restriction date.
A conference call was hosted by Manitoba Sustainable Development on Wednesday April 3, 2019 to take input from multiple stakeholders on conditions across the province.
After consulting with industry, farmers, agriculture extension and associations, it was determined that no variance is required to the annual November 10 to April 10 restriction on winter application of nutrients (including manure application).
CAAR thanks the Government of Manitoba for giving multiple stakeholders the opportunity to give input on variance requirements relating to the legislation restricting applications of agriculture nutrients.
