CAAR is pleased to announce that it has received an Equivalency Certificate from Transport Canada which provides certain variances from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) B622 Standard related to pressure testing of nurse and application tanks.

The certificate, titled Equivalency Certificate SH 11960.2, was obtained November 29, 2019 is valid until Dec. 31, 2020. The previous certificate, SH 11960.1, expires on December 31 of this year.

Equivalency Certificate SH 11960.2 is available exclusively to CAAR members that handle, offer for transport or transport, by road vehicle, UN1005, Ammonia, Anhydrous, Class 2.3(8). The certificate authorizes members of CAAR and their clients to pressure test their applicator tanks and nurse wagons every five years instead of every three years as prescribed in the CSA B620-14 Standard.

Please note that CAAR membership is a requirement of this certificate. As CAAR membership is tracked by individual retail location, any retail site that is not currently listed as a CAAR member will need to apply for CAAR membership prior to gaining access to this certificate.
