When retailers gathered in Saskatoon just two short months ago, there was no way of knowing that this spring planting season would be like no other, or that a panel discussion would prove to be so relevant to our current situation. Read on to see how eConnectivity can help ag retail weather these unprecedented times.

Like every year at this time, retailers across the country are ramping up for the spring season. This year is decidedly different, though, as COVID-19 social distancing guidelines are forcing retailers to make significant changes to the way they interact with their customers. From no-contact pick-ups and drop-offs, to online purchasing, retailers are leaning heavily on electronic systems to keep their businesses running smoothly.

Passing information smoothly from one source to another is the goal of eConnectivity – the ability for systems to communicate with other systems and equipment. Leading the movement to improve eConnectivity within the ag industry is Washington-based AgGateway.

CAAR was pleased to present a panel discussion on eConnectivity at the 2020 CAAR Conference. The discussion, which was moderated by Brent Kemp, AGgateway’s executive vice president and CEO, brought together representatives from WinField United Canada, GROWMARK and Nutrien to discuss how improved eConnectivity has contributed to their organizations.

A transcript of the discussion in its entirety is available online now. Retailers are encouraged to read the conversation for advice and insight into how they can implement electronic tools and improve their own back-office processes to help serve their customers during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
