Based on generally unfavourable weather and snow cover conditions in Manitoba, the restriction on winter application of nitrogen and phosphorus-containing nutrient sources in Manitoba remains in effect until midnight on Sunday, April 10, 2016, and will be lifted beginning on April 11.
Please ensure your customers are adhering to all conditions of this restriction, as violations will be subject to fines.
CAAR was pleased for the opportunity to work closely with Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship, a team of agronomists across Manitoba, as well as other vested parties to monitor conditions and determine whether a provincial variance was justified.
For more information on the legislation, including restrictions on broadcast or manure application, as well as application on certain Nutrient Management Zones, soil types, and near water courses, please visit www.manitoba.ca/nutrientdates.
