Highlights and Preview

Day two of the 2017 CAAR Conference was a resounding success!

Our industry is always evolving and changing, and CAAR members are continually innovating to take advantage of new opportunities and conquer new challenges. The Innovation Showdown celebrated and promoted this innovative spirit, offering fresh ideas and creative presentations. One of the lucky audience members was also the recipient of a $100 Visa gift card.

Another highlight of day two was "Understanding Farmer Motivation" with keynote speaker Kevin Hursh. His presentation provided valuable insight into what drives a producer, and gave inspiration for how retailers can work to better understand their customers.

Hursh's presentation was well-received by delegates. One conference attendee described it as informative and said Hursh provided great insight into the world of farming. "It was very relevant for the times and gave insight into the issues we're facing in the industry right now," said the attendee.

Congratulations to the top bidders at the ever-popular CAAR Pro-Ag Investments Auction. Conference attendees came away with some great prizes from our generous supporters, with all contributions going directly towards initiatives to strengthen the agri-retail industry.

The second day of the conference concluded with the CAAR's Choice Awards Banquet. Congratulations to all of this year's recipients:

  • Retailer of the Year: Top Gro Agro Ltd.

  • Agronomist of the Year: Laurie Manshreck, Paterson Grain

  • 4R Nutrient Stewardship Agri-Retailer: AGRIS Co-operative
