Syngenta Canada Inc. introduced Roundup Ready 2 Xtend trait technology to its soybean varieties in early March. The Roundup Ready 2 Xtend trait provides tolerance to glyphosate (Group 9) and dicamba (Group 4) herbicides, which allows growers to use multiple modes of action to manage weeds like glyphosate-resistant giant ragweed, common ragweed and Canada fleabane.

Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans combine the yield potential of the Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait with a powerful new resistance management tool.

Limited quantities of several Roundup Ready 2 Xtend varieties are available for spring planting, ranging from maturity group zero (MG0) through to maturity group three (MG3). Syngenta plans to launch several new Roundup Ready 2 Xtend varieties in fall 2017 for the 2018 planting season. It will also begin transitioning existing varieties from the Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield platform to the Roundup Ready 2 Xtend platform.
