The new retailer, called Independent Crop Inputs, officially opened at a new facility off Highway 3, west of Taber, AB.
The business, which opened on July 26, is owned and operated by six shareholders and is one of few independent crop protection and nutrition input sellers in southern Alberta. A farmer in the area provided 10.44 acres of land for the new facility, which includes a building that houses offices, chemical storage, seed storage and a potato lab.
A separate structure also contains fertilizer storage along with the blending and load-out facility. The fertilizer plant has a capacity of 7,350 tonnes, eight separate bins for product and a blending facility that can mix 300 tonnes per hour.
