CAAR extends warm congratulations to MK Agro Ltd., located near Brunkild, MB – winner of ADAMA’s 2018 Thank-A-Retailer contest. As the Manitoba Regional Winner and overall National Winner, MK Agro received a total of $30,000 to spend on projects in their community. They have chosen to donate their prize money to Kelly Kabernick Girls High School Hockey Memorial Scholarship and the Sanford Hockey Arena.

ADAMA’s Thank-A-Retailer contest engages communities in four regions, British Columbia & Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Eastern Canada, to vote for their local agri-retailer. The winning retailer in each region receives $15,000 to spend on community initiatives.

The National Winner, selected from the four regional winners with a second voting period, wins an additional $15,000. With a total of 21,061 votes, MK Agro won the prestigious title of National Winner.

MK Agro was established in 2010 and is locally owned and operated. The MK team is dedicated to serving their community by giving back to a wide range of community initiatives including maintaining community spaces, supporting local sports teams donating to healthcare projects and many more.

The Kelly Kabernick Girls High School Hockey Memorial Scholarship was set up to honour Kelly Kabernick, a local farmer and father of five who tragically passed away in October 2017. By donating their prize money to the scholarship and the Sanford arena, MK Agro aims to keep Kelly’s memory alive in the community he loved.
