OCTOBER 2024 31 NEWS IT’S THE RIGHT TIME FOR A NEW CAAR You need to be a member! Stu Rasmussen, Board Chair, CAAR CAAR is rapidly changing, and it’s important for you to know. CAAR is the only national association advocating for the interests of ag retailers. We’ve made changes to improve our service to members and strengthen the future of ag retail. If you are an ag retailer selling fertilizer, crop protection, seed, farm services, technical services, ag equipment, and transportation services, YOU NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF CAAR. If you are a supplier that relies on ag retailers to sell and promote your products, YOU NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF CAAR. Agriculture is one of Canada’s key industries with a serious stake in Canada’s food supply. Ag retail drives the industry as a key link between the manufacturers, distribution, and end users—ag retail makes the supply chain work. Although ag retailers play this crucial role, navigating government and regulations is only getting more complex. Ag retailers cannot advocate for their needs individually and need an association to act in their best interest and bring their voices to the necessary audiences. The New CAAR is just that. New CAAR has a seat at the regulatory tables and will collaborate and partner with other national and provincial organizations and all levels of government to bring a unified voice for national issues on behalf of the ag retailers across Canada. The New CAAR exists to listen and advocate for the interests of the ag retailers and minimize the impacts of regulations on your businesses. With a new and engaged Executive Director and Board, new team members, and a newly launched brand, the New CAAR has a passion and focus for the future. The New CAAR is focused on advocacy and is the strong, united voice for all of ag retail across Canada. New CAAR’s commitment to you is to stay on top of all the regulatory and legislative changes impacting your ability to conduct business and communicate that to you through our newsletter and magazine. A CAAR membership gives you a sense of community, a voice in an association that will listen and act on its members’ interests. It’s the right time for a New CAAR.
