Fall is always an exciting time at the CAAR office and this year is certainly no exception. The CAAR team has been hard at work on advocacy and other industry strengthening initiatives on behalf of our membership, and we are very excited for the association’s activities in the coming months.

First and foremost, registration for the 2019 CAAR Conference will launch Oct. 15 and we are thrilled to share new details with you, both in the conference preview article found on pg. 6, and also within the pages of the conference registration guide included with this magazine. I encourage you to peruse the guide for more details and to check caar.org/caar-conference often as we will be posting regular updates to share new information.

Speaking of sharing information, CAAR’s communications outreach is expanding and focusing more on digital media, including our social media presence. If you aren’t already following us on Twitter, I suggest you do so to see the most up-to-date information and highlights from your retail association on a regular basis. Follow us at @CdnAgRetail and watch the #CAARCon2019 hashtag for conference specific updates.

We are also excited to launch a new member survey later this fall and will be sharing our findings at the CAAR Conference. If you have suggestions for how the association can serve your retail business better, I encourage you to share your insights during the survey process. Your input is valued and necessary for the association to continue to evolve and support ag retailers in Canada. Our team looks forward to seeing your responses!

I hope you enjoy this issue of the magazine. If you have feedback, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Sincerely,

Lynda Nicol
Editor-in-Chief
