Global Fertilizer Day, celebrated annually on October 13, is an international awareness campaign initiated by Fertilizers Europe and supported internationally by fertilizer associations and companies with the goal of bringing awareness to the important role of fertilizer as the backbone of the agricultural industry and to feeding the world.

Global Fertilizer Day marks the anniversary of Fritz Haber’s discovery of ammonia synthesis in 1908, which sowed the seeds for the Green Revolution of the early 20th century. During this time, widespread adoption of agricultural technologies lifted millions out of poverty and famine, allowing our world to grow and develop as we know it today.

Fertilizer Canada is encouraging members and stakeholders to celebrate the impacts the Canadian fertilizer industry has on national economic, environmental and social goals. To help with promotion of the event, Fertilizer Canada has updated the Global Fertilizer Day online toolkit, which includes suggestions on community and employee engagement including a facility tour guide; a social media guide and ready-made digital marketing resources including posters, logos, and infographics.
