Seed retailer opinions needed!
Seeds Canada has developed a “Guide to Sustainable Seed” and is calling for input on the first official draft. The vision for the guide is to be a unified voice for sustainability in the seed sector, highlighting sustainability efforts throughout the seed value chain, all before seed gets in the hands of the commercial farmer. The “Guide to Sustainable Seed” focuses on four large sections of the seed sector:
- Plant Breeding
- Seed Production
- Seed Conditioning
- Seed Retail
To have a unified voice, Seeds Canada is looking for input from members on the guide. Seeds Canada will host four different engagement sessions, correlating with each section of the guide:
- Plant Breeding: January 30, 2:30–4:00 p.m. EST
- Seed Production: February 4, 2:30–4:00 p.m. EST
- Seed Conditioning: February 6, 2:30–4:00 p.m. EST
- Seed Retail: February 10, 2:30–4:00 p.m. EST
Anyone interested in participating should email Nick Stratford (nstratford@seeds-canada.ca), indicating which session(s) you’re interested in. A copy of the guide will be shared alongside the calendar invite.
