Bayer has announced it will be investing $7.5 billion over the next decade into crop protection research to find additional methods to combat weeds. The company states that this R&D investment will go toward improving understanding of resistance mechanisms, discovering and developing new modes of action and developing integrated weed management solutions. Bayer AG also states that the company aims to further reduce its environmental impact by 30 per cent, and will only sell crop protection products into developing counties if they meet stands of a majority of leading regulators on top of local regulations.
