Join us at the 2020 CAAR Conference in Saskatoon, Sask., Feb. 11-13 to find out the latest news and developments, direct from industry insiders, at timely and information-packed Industry Update presentations.
Representatives from the Canadian Seed Trade Association (CSTA) and CropLife Canada will be presenting to conference delegates at the first of two Industry Updates on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m.
Eric Gregory, CSTA’s liaison to the CAAR board of directors, will be sharing the latest information on three hot topics in the seed industry: brand innovation, value creation and the Seed Synergy Collaboration Project.
- Brand Innovation: Gregory will discuss brand technologies and how new gene editing technologies available to plant breeders may necessitate a change in regulations.
- Value Creation: A decrease in investment in seed innovation is sparking concern in the industry. Gregory will touch on what reduced access to new and better seed genetics could mean for retailers and their grower customers.
- The Seed Synergy Collaboration Project: Gregory will share details about this exciting project – a joint effort between the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association, the CSTA, the Canadian Seed Institute, the Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada, the Canadian Plant Technology Agency, and CropLife Canada – and how it will help to create the “seed industry of the future.”
In addition to Gregory’s presentation, a representative from CropLife Canada will also be on hand to discuss the organizations activities over the past year, and what’s on CropLife’s radar for the next 12 months.
