Bayer has announced it will be investing $7.5 billion over the next decade into crop protection research to find additional methods to combat weeds. The company states that this R&D investment will go toward improving understanding of resistance mechanisms, discovering and developing new modes of action and developing integrated weed management solutions. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced it is cancelling registrations for 12 neonicotinoid-containing pesticides, effective May 20, 2019. This announcement will not impact products available in Canada.
