Find out how recent developments are affecting Canadian ag retailers at two informative Industry Update sessions at the 2020 CAAR Conference in Saskatoon, Sask., Feb. 11-13.

Representatives from Cleanfarms, Transport Canada and Fertilizer Canada will be presenting to conference delegates at the second of two Industry Updates on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 9:45 – 10:30 a.m.

CAAR is pleased to welcome Shane Hedderson, western region business manager for Cleanfarms, to share details of his organization’s efforts to manage the packaging and plastics waste produced by agriculture. Find out how you can get involved by becoming a Cleanfarms collection site for unwanted pesticides, plastic containers, grain bags and other packaging waste, or simply by helping to spread the word to your customers.

As well, Chris Nowak, means of containment specialist with Transport Canada, will be on hand to discuss upcoming changes to B620 regulations, including changes to training requirements and revised emergency protocols. Updates to the B620 regulations are scheduled to come into effect in early 2020 – don’t miss this timely presentation!

Finally, Catherine King, vice president of public affairs with Fertilizer Canada, will round out the session by presenting an overview of Fertilizer Canada’s initiatives supporting sustainability, regulatory compliance and risk management, and 4R Nutrient Stewardship.
