Adapting to Change

So much can change in a year. In February 2020, I thought I had a pretty clear idea of what was ahead of me as far as my agriculture-focused career went. I had just left my position as a corporate director of recruitment with a national line company and joined a recruiting firm, specializing in all aspects of agriculture shortly after.

The definition of change as a verb is “to make or become different.” Life is full of changes – personally and professionally. When a big change happens, we like to follow it up by saying, “When things get back to normal.” Normal is conforming to a standard, and after a change, really there is no “getting back to” because things are different.

Reflecting and Looking Forward

As I write this, snow is swirling outside my office windows and thoughts of agriculture and farming seem a long way off. In reality, agriculture and agri-retail do not rest and today is simply one stage in the production and planning process for our members and their customers.
