Canadian Agriculture Safety Week is March 15-21, 2020. Keep reading for ways your retail can celebrate Ag Safety Week and bring awareness to CASA's annual initiative.

Delivered by CASA (the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association) and presented by Farm Credit Canada, this week-long public campaign focuses on the different areas of farm safety and encourages the entire value chain to make safety a priority.

This year’s theme, “Grow an AgSafe Canada,” picks up from 2019’s “Build an AgSafe Canada” and centers on ways to increase safety on the farm.

Share the AgSafe Message

CAAR members are encouraged to get involved by supporting Ag Safety Week messaging and sharing the campaign resources with their customers. As trusted advisors, retailers play a vital role in disseminating information to growers. This can be done through face-to-face conversations, on a bulletin board in your retail, or online via your website, blog or social media platforms.

Several “Toolbox Talks” are also available in the resources section on the Ag Safety Week website, covering topics such as locating underground utilities before digging, ladder safety, and power take off (PTO). Information on developing an emergency preparedness plan is also provided.

To get started, check out CASA’s media kit/social media guide, filled with sample tweets, shareable blog posts and content suggestions: Ag Safety Week Social Media Guide
