Ralph Eichler, who previously served as ag critic during the Tories' time in opposition, has been chosen as the minister of agriculture for Manitoba's new Progressive Conservative government.

Eichler, 66, has served as MLA for the Lakeside constituency since 2003, and previously worked as a cattle producer and administrator for the Interlake School Division.
