CAAR Retailer Members handling any dangerous goods are strongly encouraged to ensure their facilities and paperwork are in order, particularly those who are Registered Facilities for anhydrous ammonia nurse tank or applicator tank testing.
Transport Canada has vastly increased its staffing resources in the past year, increasing their capacity to focus on facility audits.
CAAR has been working closely with Transport Canada auditors and CAAR Members as we identify opportunities for improvement of the Nurse Tank Safety Program and the Quality Control Manual. Currently published as Revision 5.4, CAAR is in the process of developing Revision 6.0 of the Quality Control Manual. We look forward to the pending result of this revision, as it we expect it to greatly enhance the functionality and content of the manual.
In anticipation of the completion and release of Revision 6.0, CAAR has made some important interim adjustments to Revision 5.4 of the Quality Control Manual to clarify the B620-09 definition and requirements for a “Tank Inspector” and “Tank Tester”, and how this relates to the Safety Officer training provided by CAAR through the Nurse Tank Safety Council of Canada training program.
