Fertilizer Canada is hosting a webinar outlining the implementation process for the Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) Security Code of Practice. The webinar will provide crucial information for any retailers who transport, store, handle and/or sell CAN.

The webinar will be held on Tuesday March 20 and registration is open until Thursday March 15.

Fertilizer Canada and the Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers (CAAR) would like to reassure farmers about the supply of nurse tanks for applying anhydrous ammonia fertilizer this spring.

The Manitoba winter nutrient application ban is in full effect until April 10, 2018. CAAR needs input from Manitoba agronomists as the association prepares to meet with an advisory group to discuss variances to the April 10 date. CAAR and Fertilizer Canada are in the process of completing an application for a Temporary Certificate in support of the anhydrous ammonia industry. A request for compliance reprieve for nurse and applicator tanks is in development to meet: 

  • Section 5.10 (1) of the TDGR; 
  • Visual Inspection requirements in Specific Requirement 55 of the CSA B622-14 Standard.
